The Director Catering Sales, Event Planning & Marketing manages support functions essential to sales force productively of Marigold Catering. These include planning, reporting, quota setting, management, sales process optimization, sales job design, sales training, sales program and implementation, sales compensation design and administration, and recruiting and selection of the Catering department.



  • Developing strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets
  • Developing relationships with clients
  • Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets
  • Representing the business at conferences, trade fairs and networking events
  • Maximizing new business development opportunities
  • Overseeing a sales team
  • Support sales team by training & continued education, promote team atmosphere, and assist with planning.
  • Ensure payment/deposit schedules are being followed
  • Conduct annual reviews for seasoned staff. Conduct quarterly reviews for new team members.
  • Work with Director of Operations on budgets and sales goals for team
  • Create tracking system to monitor closing rates and profitability. Hold the team members accountable for their goals, but also help them achieve it.
  • Conduct one on one coaching sessions for team members.
  • Offer incentives to boost sales and team morale.
  • Act as a mentor for sales team
  • Inspire the team to collaborate
  • Conduct weekly team meetings
  • Scheduling- oversee the weekly office schedules and track overtime. Approve time off in conjunction with the HR manager.
  • Work with the staffing team on recruitment, training & retention of staff
  • Network within the community to develop new business relationships, and maintain current client relationships
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas
  • Meet and exceed annual sales goals
  • Identify trends and monitor competitors
  • Attend annual conferences for professional growth and share with team
  • Manage large scale events, but also have the ability to delegate to team?
  • Attend networking events
  • Work with other department heads to determine best practices of processes and procedures

  • Individual must have a minimum of 4 years strong food and beverage sales and logistics with a catering company, service hotel or other related/equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate should be a deal maker who is adept at consultative selling at the executive level and has a track record of sales accomplishments
  • A track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas and targets over time
  • Be able and willing to work 45-50 hour work week or as business dictates
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated proficiency managing analytically rigorous initiatives.
